The School of Applied Linguistics offers bachelor degree courses in the following areas of study:
Multilingual Communication, Technical Communication and Multimodal Communication are the three bachelor degree programmes offered in Translation studies.
Subject to Federal approval being granted, the School will from autumn 2009 onwards offer a Master of Arts programme in Applied Linguistics, with the possibility of specialisation in one of the following subjects:

- Linguistic and Cultural Integration
I addition to new subjects, the ZFH Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics programme offers translators an additional option for further specialisation. This programme will replace the course of further study in Interpreting which has been offered hitherto.
In the autumn of 2006, the diploma course in Translation, which had been offered as a university of applied sciences degree course, was succeeded by a bachelor degree course in Translation. The students in the last Translation diploma course will graduate in the autumn of 2009.
